I believe that college is the only way to achieve (my) career goal and further myself. This grant will help take a little worry and stress off the expenses of college.

Last Dollar Grants and Scholarships

Fond memories of an Edison High School math teacher lead a grouop of Edison graduates to establish a scholarship in the teachers' name. Each year, an outstanding Edison High School math student is selected to receive a generous gift o $1,000 from The Vincent N. Fazio Memorial Fund to help them with postgraduate studies.

A second source of support, the REF Founders Fund, supplies a $500 grant per year to a student who is college-bound and is an active part of the Rochester community. Public service is a key part of this grant.

Both grant recipients are selected in the spring. For more information, please contact us at info@rochestereducation.org

A previous series of grants were launched by the

Monroe High School Class of 1960 as a gift to the Monroe High School community. Starting in 2012, the fund at REF donated $500 per year to three students. The Fund concluded its support in 2017.

As one student told us: "I was overjoyed to learn of my selection for this honor...The financial assistance you provided will be of great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and it will allow me to concentrate more of my time...studying."

In the Fall of 2012, Paul Goldberg, a member of the Class of 1960, engaged a group of his fellow class members to support present students in honor of the 50th anniversary of the class In the Fall of 2013, The Monroe High School Class of 1963 decided also to support the fund with a generous gift. This will enable more students to receive this Last Dollar support.
